bleeding after having sex

I'm 23 weeks & 3days. I had sex yesterday, I saw a good bit of blood right after..so I had to wipe a couple of times before the bleeding slowed down. I went to go get pads but only see little spots of blood (not like it was before). But it has been no bleeding at all today.  The amount of blood at the time scared me but it hasn't started since. I was told to refrain from sex until I go to my next ob appointment(not to rush to the er) and to make sure the bleeding doesn't last for over 48hours or get heavier. Just wanted to know if this is normal.

If it was a flow I'd definitely be holding off on sex, they might have you wait til you deliver, depending on why you're bleeding.I would call again today and let them know you're still spotting.

It was a large amount at first (not spotting) it was a like a heavy period but it slowed down after a hour or so but now when I go to the restroom its just small pink spots not enough to put on a pad but this is the first time I have ever seen blood since my period so I was just worried. Because I'm still spotting

I never spotted after sex.  Definitely do what you were told.  I'm sure everything is fine they just might tell ya no more sex for awhile which would obviously suck lol.  Make sure sex is gentle.

Usually spotting after sex is normal, if it's excessive, it should probably be checked out. There are blood vessels by your cervix and sometimes sex can cause them to burst, and cause some bleeding, how much blood was it at the time? A flow? And is it still happening?
