bleeding nipples

I have a question. I'm 35 weeks and my nipples has a reddish fluid in it. I'm not leaking heavily or at all. But I do squeeze kind of once or twice a day just to get milk ready. Does it even help with providing help for when baby comes? Any idea if it is blood or not?

Women can start producing breast milk as soon as 14weeks pregnant! Im 37weeks +5. I have been producing milk since i hit 20weeks with this baby. I have to pump every morning or my boobs hurt so bad. It is still the pre milk and i save it in the freezer. I get 8oz out at a time! Every womens body is different. It could be breast milk that is starting to spoil that has built up in the glands! Or it could be blood ether way u should have ur doctor take a look!

Thanks! I just felt like if nothing comes out now, nothing will come out later. But I guess I'll worry about that after baby's here.

You're not supposed to be squeezing anything out. That won't help your milk. Your milk doesn't come in intil after birth so it maybe blood and irritation where you've been messing with them so much

It doesn't really help to bring in milk since it doesn't come in until after baby and the stuff that you are squeezing out is the important stuff baby needs after birth. It could be blood but not necessarily. You don't notice to much when breastfeeding but when you pump you can tell your breastmilk can change colors depending on what you eat. I have had pink, blue, green, etc. I would just ask about it your next appointment.
