But iv also already had one rhogham shot with this pregnancy at about 12 weeks
I am now 25 weeks. With another girl. my first born girl has the exact same blood type that I do including the lack of rh protein coating her blood. I'm thinking this little girl will be the same.
Oh wow how far along are you ?
I have 0- and Rh- blood. Due to miscarrying I had to have many rhogham shots to ensure I could carry other children. The doctor said it was because those babies had a different blood type and my body was attacking the fetus (killing it) because they had proteins in their blood that my body doesn't make and the baby was being mistaken for a foreign body. I was once told by my ob that I most likely would never carry full term unless my partner had the same blood type so that the baby I carried would be the same blood type as me. That seems to be true, my one surviving baby has the exact same blood type as I do. Still have to get the Rhogham shots tho.
Ohok thanks ladies, im just scared about the shots im no good at all with needles :(
It affects future pregnancies if you're a negative blood group and your baby is positive. What happens is your body makes antibodies to positive blood group so if your next babies were positive your body would reject them. If your partner is a negative blood group you wouldn't need the shots.
Yeah, it's where if your blood mixes with your babys blood it attacks it like it's a virus, so to prevent that they give you the shots. Now if your baby would also turn out to have negative blood then there would be no problem.
