borderline diabetic confussed

I have been seeing a specialist at the hospital along with my obygn. The doctor dealing with my glucose levels wants me to go on insulin but all the other doctors/nurses are telling me I don't need it. All my sugar levels are good except once in a whileI will get 5.3 for my fasting morning sugar. Apparently they are supposed to be 5.2 and lower. My dad is a doctor and is telling me not to take it, my mom had gestational diabeties but way worse then me and wasn't even put on insulin but as of right now I don't even have any high numbers. Im so confessed cause I don't want to take insulin if it's not needed and since my levels are so low already, im scared that it will lower them too much. I never had a problem with my other 2 pregnancies with diabeties so I don't know what to do. Im supposed to call the nurse with my sugar levels on Monday and then she will decide if she is going to put me on it officially. Omg this is stressing me out and im so distrusted that I could cry.

My obgyn is just dealing with my pregnancy, basically makes sure baby is healthy. It's the other specialist doctor who has been pushing me since the beginning to go on insulin. My obgyn gave me the paper work to do my 2 hr glucose and the specialist continued to tell me that no matter the results of that test she was going to put me on insulin like wtf? She's like it's a waste of time. Im going to do the glucose test regardless of what she says cause my obgyn wants me too just to prove that im not diabetic. I think if I pass the glucose then im going to keep on the diet and just take my morning glucose to make sure my sugar levels are fine
