Braxton hicks don't last 20 minutes, they last 30-60 seconds and they come in a non-consistent pattern, they come and go, they can be uncomfortable but not painful, the real contractions will hurt and it will be slightly more powerful than braxton hicks, I recently started feeling them, 32 weeks it's just tightening now but it's not consistent at all, some women won't feel it at all, I notice mine once in a while.

Oh dear. Just keep an eye on it hon. If it doesn't stop after an hour go to the e.r. or if you want to be safe go now.

Braxton hicks commonly happen through the entire pregnancy, I've had them since 12 weeks.

Braxton Hicks will usually also only last about 20 minutes but some can go on for a couple of hours.

I would monitor it and see if it lasts up to an hour before going to the hospital. How far along are you?

AMDG that response was nuts.

Braxton hicks and contractions feel the same the only difference is that with contractions your cervix dialates and happens regularly while increasing in frequency. I asked my doc because I was curious.
