there is a group her on medhelp for breastfeeding. It is full of mommies who have questions and moms who regularly help out with tips and advise. i found it to be a lifesaver for me when i had questions and when i was actively breastfeeding.
In my experience.. when my milk came in I had sooo much. That's the perfect time to pump and save up a ton! Good luck to you!
I plan to breastfeed without pumping the first month
In order to establish and keep your milk suppl y you should only breastfeed the first month. Every time you give the baby formula, you need to pump to maintain your supply.
I know this doesn't really help you much, but when I did that my milk supply dried up. I honestly don't know how women switch between the two, but I thought I would give you my experience so that you can be prepared and find a way of preventing it happening to you too.

My lactation consultant strongly suggested against going between a bottle and nipple the first 4 weeks, but some moms don't get the option, and have to go between the two, and they seem to make it work! I tried it, and after I gave my son a bottle, he was terrible about latching on! He would do it maybe 1 out 5 times, and eventually I had to pump constantly, and that was very demanding! I'm strictly breastfeeding this time, so hopefully it works out! The first few days are the most important as far as breastfeeding goes as well!
Ok thats good. Yes I understand about work and not being able to pump as much. Your pediatictian will most likely tell you about those vitamins when you tell her you are breastfeeding. It's great that you want to breastfeed and there is a great forum on here called Breastfeeding. They answer many questions that new moms or expectant moms have.
I plan to breastfeed the first month without pumping...but when I go back to work it would be harder for me to pump all the time like I would need to...so I planned to wait a while before I started her on the bottles..but thank you I'll look into those vitamins
I soley breastfeed both my girls for 1 year. and my 1 year old i am still breastfeeding. I give her a vitamin with vitamin D in it called Trivosol (sp). You can supplement with formula but it may confuse the baby going from breast to bottle. Why don't you just try breastfeeding in the beginnning and see how that goes. You can always pump and give her breast milk in a bottle if you feel more comfortable doing that.
