What are to pros and cons of each?
I've heard great things about breast feeding but not sure what all is true and what's not. I'm just trying to figure out what I wanna do once baby is here.

Awesome!!! Your insurance company may also assist in your purchase of a breast pump.  They can get pretty expensive, but you won't start using the pump until baby is about 1 month old, so no rush...Just a thought!!!

iI agree %100 with all these ladys. I breastfed my baby for 15months never did her lil mouth touch formula.. I lost 30 lbs n my daughter now 3has hardly gotten sick. Yes absolutely they do go thru growth spurts but ure breast adjust supply on demand. Honestly yes it hurts at the beggining
n yes some babys dont know how to latch but its a learning process for them as it is for u.  Ive seen so many women quit cz it hurt or cz they thought baby didnt want it but they do they just introduced a bottle first n bsbys got used to it. it takes dedication if u can take labor then u can do breastfeeding it willl reward u by itself. Im so glad that i was able to do it that long n going to do it with baby #2. Ive heard that there is rat droopings found in formula. or that its always being recalled for watever reason.

There are a few things that can set babies off for gas and fussiness, caffeine, broccoli, chocolate, milk, etc. but it's not as common as you'd think.

I'm going on my 8th month breastfeeding my daughter, and I absolutely LOVE it. It is so hard at first, it's a little painful, it's stressful to learn how to latch correctly, it seems inconvenient going out and worrying about breastfeeding in public or pumping enough to go out, I really didn't think I would make it this far. The pain lasts temporarily, you learn easily how to latch best for you and your LO, and you get comfortable with the idea that if someone doesn't like the most natural way of feeding a baby, they can kiss your @$$! I lost all 45lbs in 2 weeks breastfeeding my son, and all 24lbs in two weeks breastfeeding my daughter. It's so great for bonding, there is no bond like it. It's free, and so convenient not to have to make a bottle, it reduces the risk of SIDS, it helps prevent breast cancer (possibly, still being studied, but study after study is proving it), it helps protect your baby with the best blend of vitamins, nutrients and antibodies, something formula cannot mimic. I breastfed my son for one month, and that was it for me, he had 7 ear infections in one year, my daughter is almost 8 months and has never had a fever, never an ear infection, and 2 runny noses, through flu season! I am also so worried about what's truly in formula.. there are so many recalls on things you never know til it's too late. It is truly the best you can do for your child. I absolutely love it and will breastfeed my daughter to a year, and my future children as well. The best advice I could give someone who was going to breastfeed. If your baby is fussing at the breast, and acting starving constantly, you're worried about your supply it's probably a growth spurt. Very very few women can't produce enough to feed a child without supplementing, and very few truly lose their supply, they just think they do. Growth spurts happen around 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 8 weeks, 3 months.. sometimes it can last a day, sometimes a week. But it always gets easier and it's so worth it to stick it out!

Oh and breast feeding helps you lose weight! I lost 30 of the lovely 50 lbs I gained withing 2 weeks and as tiff said while your sick you wanna keep breast feeding while sick because it actually helps them build an immunity against whatever your sick with... It's like getting a flu shot

Breast feeding is the best for the baby, its much better then formula and each ladies breast milk is specifically made for the babies personal needs, it's like snow flakes lol, and the bonding that you get is so amazing and deep, they dont spit up as much and they tend to get more constipated on formula rather then breast milk...plus its free! And studies show that babies immune systems who are breast fed are much more sufficient then formula fed babies, they don't get sick as much and they bounce back quicker. My personal opinion is its selfish if a lady chooses not to because it hurts at first or its inconvenient for them. I unfortunately didn't produce enough milk so I was breast feeding and supplementing with formula and 3 days ago I dried up.... But I have no choice unfortunately and formula is so expensive! I get the larger buckets of enfimil and he finishes that in about 3 days and they are almost 30 bucks! $60+ a week!

Wow.  There are so many great benefits to breastfeeding, it's almost too many to list.  I went to a breastfeeding class through the hospital I've chosen to deliver and it was the best thing I did.

Some of the great things that stood out to me were:

1) You never have to buy formula (LOL) FREE MILK!!
2) You don't have to leave your bed to go to the kitchen to warm up milk.
3) Your milk produces everything your baby needs.  Remember: your baby came from you.  No formula knows what your baby needs like your own body.
4) Your breast milk changes as baby gets older to give baby the nutrients it needs as he/she is growing.
5) Even when you are sick, they say to constantly breastfeed because baby will get to benefit from the same elements you have to fighting off sickness for themselves (forgive me I forget the word I'm looking for).
6) Your baby will be overall less fussy and have less gas because it's not taking in processed formula.
7) There are well over 100 antioxidants, vitamins (you name it) that your baby will get only from you and not formula.
8) You'll be able to bond in a different way than anyone else ever could with your baby.
9) No matter where you go, you can pump and store and/or feed your baby on the spot. (No bottle warming or searching or making of a bottle)
10) Breast feeding DOES help your uterus shrink back down to normal size quicker and could reduce bleeding after labor.

I can go on and on... That's why I choose to breastfeed.

I know many women have formula fed their babies for a long time and their babies are doing fine... So it's really a personal choice...

Hope this helps A LOT!!! Lol... Good luck
