breast pumping

So I finally had my twin girls 9 days ago! They are in the nicu at the moment but they are doing amazing and should cone home very soon. Well yesterday I talked to a lactation lady that works in there. She told me if I don't pump every three hours then im going to wake up one day and have no milk at all! :/ is this true? Ive been skipping pumping at night because its so hard to get enough sleep when i'm going to the nicu at 5 am till 8pm then I don't get to bed till 10pm im just so worn out. But I really really don't want to loose my milk supply..

2-3 hours during the day and 3-4 hours at night. I know it's hard! I didn't pump hardly anything until we brought him home. I was lucky to get an ounce for him. Just keep pumping and doing As much skin to skin as you can.

Yes. You need to pump at least every three to four hours at night or you won't have enough milk for your babies. Breastfeeding is supply and demand, if you aren't demanding, your breasts won't supply. My son was in the nicu for a week and I remember how exhausted I was. He's seven weeks old now and still exclusively breastfed. Good luck!
