breastfeeding help!

Well its been 3rd time lucky for breastfeeding, but I'm not producing much (my son is a week old and I have been demand feeding) I bought a pump yesterday to try to get some more in between feeds, but I can get only about an ounce and I think he would rather be having at least 2/3. So my question is, if I express an ounce at a time, can I top up the same storage bottle over the course of the day to give enough for a good feed at night? His dad is desperate to help more and tbh, I'm knackered!

The washcloth I have heard about I suppose u  could pump between feedings but to be honest if u won't to make sure he gets a good feeding at night and its not taking from ur daily supply for the baby I would give formula it is heavier and will satisfy longer at night...that is just my opinion maybe somebody else can help more I never breastfed just pumped. Good luck

Try eating oatmeal each morning for milk production if you think it is an issue. I trained my body to think I needed enough for an extra feeding in the morning. I pumped at the same time in the morning about 1/2 hour after my son would nurse. After about a week...I was able to pump enough to store a 3oz bottle after each of those sessions. When I couldn't pump that much yet I would combine milk from different sessions but ONLY if it was from the same 24 hour period.
I tried what you are talking about with the heavier bottle feed at night. It didn't help. I thought that it would but it didn't help with my son. It kind of back fired on me. He woke up more to eat when I tried it. Hope it works for you!!!!!
