I'm 9 weeks 3 days pregnant but confused about the weeks...

Ok, I've confused myself, hopefully I don't confuse you as well.  Basically, I love to read all the information I can find about the week I'm in. but I got to thinking.

I am 9 weeks 3 days pregnant today. This means I've complete 9 weeks and 3 days of pregnancy.  To me, this means that I am currently in the beginning of my 10th week, since last Friday I COMPLETED my 9th week and I'll have COMPLETED my 10th week on Friday. But according to everything i've read so far - it sounds like I should be reading 9th week information because I'm 9 weeks... but I'm confused.

Or here - when your child is 2, you aren't going to read information on what is happening to your child in the 1st year because its two and you should be reading what to expect in the 2nd year... right?

So here's my question - shouldn't I be reading information regarding what happens during the 10th week because according to the above I'm in the beginning of my 10th week not the middle of the 9th week? Or did I way over think this?

hmmm this is very interesting...I think the moment you hit 10weeks then you will be 10 weeks at this point you are going through your 9th week. I understand what the others are saying. the week of the 9th week doesn't finish till you hit 10 weeks then you will be hitting the week of the 10th week! for me im 14w and this automaticallys says 14w "currently".

9week 3 days mean 9weeks r over...it means u r on d beginning of 10 week

I am of the opposite opinion. I think we look at week 10. Here's why:

My Mayo Clinic book refers to us as week of development. In week 40 it states "sometime this week you should reach your due date", If i was 40 weeks pregnant (instead of 39) I would have already reached my due date.

Also: If you could weeks you are as follow

0-1 = 1 week
1-2=  2 week
2-3=  3weeks
3-4=  4weeks
4-5=  5weeks
5-6=  6 weeks
6-7= 7weeks
7-8= 8weeks
8-9= 9 weeks

Thus if you are 8 weeks pregnant, and coming up to 9 weeks, you are in the 9th week of pregnancy. Right?!

If you have the "Pregnancy This Week" app on your home page, it will calculate what week you should be reading. I agree that you should be reading 9 weeks and if you look at Pregnancy This Week, it should say 9 weeks until Friday.

I've had the same problem as you since the beginning LOL! i'm 21 weeks and still don't know if I should look into the "21 weeks"category or the 22 weeks one. When I downloaded an iphone app of "what to expect", it said i was 18w3d, and when I clicked on the "this week with your baby" icon it took me to "19 weeks"!

I think you're reading too much into it.  You are 9 weeks and 3 days.  You will be 10 weeks friday so until friday hits, you read what happens at 9 weeks.  From friday until the next thursday you will read what happens in week 10.

If your reading your pregnacy book, then your reading what you are today.  If your 9 weeks, then read at 9 weeks.  That is what you "should" be going through this week.  You are not 10 weeks for another 4 days.  You are going into your 10th week.  :)
