yep its easier if you avoid fary foods :) and make your diest quite bland for a couple of months some babies it doesnt worry them but lots it does and theres nothing worse than dealing with a bub with pains in their tummy from what you've eaten, also I stay away from juice as well as that can give them a tummy ache, everytime you sit down to feed you should also have 1-2 glasses of water while feeding as well

It depends on the baby. I EBF my daughter for 8 months and didn't have to avoid anything because nothing made me sick. You obviously can't go crazy on chocolate and junk foods, limit caffeine, no alcohol and if you do you have to pump and dump for a few hours, no smoking or drugs, etc etc. Some foods will cause baby discomfort, as what you eat pretty much passes into the breastmilk. For example, dairy can make some babies sick, others can't handle broccoli, onions, etc etc. Gassy sort of foods. If your baby shows discomfort after eating or has bad gas, note what you've eaten and do an elimination diet for about 2 weeks. If it clears up you know what you can't eat.
