I had brown discharge too off and on earlier, probably around 9-10 weeks. I will be 17 weks now and it seems to have gone away. My doc said it's probably old blood and nothing to worry about. If you have cramping and fresh blood then it is worrisome. Good luck. Check with your doctor, it never hurts to ask ;)
Sometimes its normal for woman to have this discharge. With my first pregnancy I had that discharge for my whole first trimester and the whole 3 months they had me on bed rest because my dr had said it was a threaten miscarriage. Once I started my second trimester the bleeding stoped and I had my daughter. Now am pregnant again and I started the same way with the brown discharge. My dr said it was a normal thing for me. I stoped spoting after 12 weeks. Now am 27wks2 days and everything is good so far. Best of luck.

Usually if blood turns red leading with severe cramping then there's something wrong. Call your Dr or go to the er if it progresses.
I had a u/s a week ago and the baby was great with heartbeat of 170 now this brown discharge and its not even every time I go to the bathroom just those 2 times :(I
If you are really worried i would go to the er just for reassurance and to see your little one o u/s
I am 10weeks 3days and god I hope not a mc I had one in october but I never had brown just started as bright red!
If it's only brown, you shouldn't worry too much. My previous pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage and started out with brown discharge, but quickly progressed to pink, and then finally red. With my current pregnancy (12w 4d) I had brown discharge off and on until about 9 weeks and my ultrasound yesterday showed a perfectly healthy baby. Unfortunately, if you are at the beginning stage of a miscarriage, there isn't much you can do to stop it. Keep an eye out for the pink and red, but don't stress too much. Even that can mean nothing. Keep us updated. I wish you luck!
How far along are you? Brown normally means old blood which isn't something to typically worry over.
