I think it depends on your dr. Mine said she would discuss induction as early as 39 weeks, and if I went more than 41, would strongly urge it. I would just ask!

Here where I live they do not allow induction by hospital policy until 41 weeks

I had my 40 week appointment and I was still closed not effaced at all and my doctor told me if I hadn't had the baby by 41 weeks we would talk about induction. I still have about 5 weeks left until I am 40 week, but my doctor already said they won't induce until 42 weeks.

You should be able to get induced. Depends on the doctor though but it wouldn't hurt to ask.
