Trying to get pregnant, but is this normal?

Hi there, My husband and I are trying to get pregnant. This is our first month officially trying. My last period was a little odd. I normally have a very normal period always the same every month. But last month it came on time however, the first three days was just spotting (very unusual) and by the fourth day it was very heavy and ended 5 days later. This has never happened to me before. Is this normal?

Now that my period is over, we have started TTC, but I have been getting little cramps here and there, what could this mean? We are using the OPK to help us. So far, no LH Surge has been detected, but I should be ovulating around today (with my calculations).

Any advice?

I have seen my doctor but she had no explanation to this. I found it very unhelpful.

May be tmi but one thing no one talked bout when I was ttc was...don't use lube when having sex. Silly but affects things. You coyld only be ovulating every other month if one of ur tubes are blocked.
I did clomid, iui, n a ton of methods I heard about n read online before seeking fertility assistance. I got pregnant the month i took off ttc before I was to do ivf. Crazy but, My only advice is be patient eventually it will happen. Mine came 2 years after stopping birth control
A year after buckling down n really trying. Relax n don't stress Ur mind can really mess w Ur body! Good luck!!!!!

Sometimes they are just weird I think but if you don't get pregnant this month I found the book taking charge of your fertility very helpful. It may be worth it to get it as it hours over all sortts of ways to track your cycle. Good luck to you. Just don't get discouraged if it doesn't happen in the first month as most women it takes some time to conceive. It will happen in the perfect timing.
