caffeine and pregnancy

I just found out in pregnant, I'm only 4 weeks. I know it's not good to drink caffeinated beverages (soda, coffee, etc.) But is it ok to drink non-caffeinated sodas? Ex....non caffeinated root beer? A cold root beer is all I want in the world right now

Thank you all!!! Yes my husband brought me home "no caffeine" root beer but just wanted to make sure it would still be ok. Oh boy I'm excited haha been wanting a root beer soo bad! I've been craving apple juice like crazy too. This is my first pregnancy and it is amazing to me that being only 4 weeks in, how different I already feel. As far as moods and cravings go. I never expected symptoms like this to show so early. Oh boy I'm in for one ain't I ;) lol

I have been drinking root beer since about 20 weeks and I'm 31 weeks now. The non caffeinated kind because it doesn't make me pee like mad woman. Root beer is my crack I swear!!!! And you would have to drink a lot of pop to equal the "dangerous" amount of caffeine consumed!

most brands of root beer don't have caffeine. you can also get sodas that don't contain caffeine in them that are labeled "caffeine free". other sodas like sprite, orange/strawberry and 7-up don't have caffeine.
it's ok to have around 2 cups of caffeine a day though.

There are non caffeinated brands of root beer, especially here in Utah where I live lol! But moderate caffeine consumption is okay, and soft drinks are okay as long as you are eating healthy. Just like candy or red meats or dairy, just remember to use moderation.

Root beer does have some caffiene. I got a huge bottle of it and drank half then read the ingredients and sure enough theres caffiene but ur allowed like 200-300 mg a day a cup of coffee pretty much. So root beer is still fine.
