Is it safe?

I'm getting my membranes stripped Monday and I'm positive for group b strep. Is it safe for my doctor to do that? I'm 38w+3d right now.

My doc did it and I was positive. Don't worry. When labor does start they give you an antibiotic in your IV. Its no biggie. No worries :)

It might depend on Dr. But you would think he wouldn't do it if its unsafe.

But I think it would be fine. All they do for strep b is give you meds when in labor. The sweep will just help make things move.

My doctor refused to do it because I tested positive so I don't think so but maybe it just depends on the doctor...

Thank u! I've just been wondering this for some time now. But I guess it's safe if my doctor is willing to do it.
