You can have an epidural if you have a back tattoo. They won't do it if the tattoo is fresh. Something to do with increased risk of infection and the ink not being fully settled. Please do NOT get a tattoo whilst pregnant. Whoever it was that said it is safe as long as it isn't on your breast, stomach or back is talking uneducated nonsense. The ink is injected into your dermis and blood stream. Your baby shares your blood right now through the umbilical chord. You are taking a massive risk to your unborn baby that is needless, selfish and completely unnecessary. Please don't do it

Wait why would they not give you an epidural if you have back tattoos? That makes no sense to me

The ink travels through your blood stream. So unless your comfortable with ink going through your babys blood stream. Its not the best idea

Yes I was 10 weeks when I got one near my ankle. As long as it wasn't on the back, breast or tummy it was fine.

A real tattoo artists won't tattoo a pregnant women .Everytime I got a tattoo I had to fill a paper out and one of the question is are you pregnant .I would wait until after you have the baby .A tattoo is not worth risking your baby Heath .and like was said above ^ Google is not a doctor so I wouldn't risk it .

From what i know and its not much lol they say no because the ink can get into babies blood and cause infection plus like everyone else said dirty needles are very risky. I would wait if i were you:) good luck and check with your doc you never know we may be wrong.

There are many studies going either way and Google isn't a Dr. The point being is it raises your chances of infection, not if the needle is "dirty" but also after care. There is also higher bleeding risks, because your pumping a lot more blood right now. Is your baby going to die? Almost absolutely not, but raising all of those risks is really not worth a tatoo. It's not going anywhere.

Actually you can, I've googled all about it before and i didnt see any proven facts that it hurts the bby. The change of getting hepatitis and hiv are just as likely as they normally are but you just gotta think, would you rather risk your babies health or would you rather wait. Also, I've read that they most likely wont do epidurals on a women with new tattoos on their backs. Thats about all i know. Oh and your tattoo can get stretched from ur growing belly, ect.

Also if you went to a sketchy place and they did tattoo while pregnant there's a pretty good chance they also use dirty needles. Dirty needles means an increased risk of contracting HIV or Herpes, or other diseases. Also, a good tattoo shop also won't tattoo if you are breastfeeding. Just wait until your baby is older.

No you can't they could be held reliable if something happend. Ie a infection and the infection can go into the blood stream and effect the baby. Just wait.
