can you pump before birth?

ok so I know alot of women get the colistrum that leaks before birth but I was curious can you get  a head start on packing away the milk by pumping or does you milk not  come til the babies are here?

Mine arent itchy although my nipples do get quite tender :(

U dont use any creams or lotions apart from bio oil and cocoa butter on the belly - im 28 weeks today and havent got any stretchmarks yet but am dreading them coming. So shallow but i cant help it lol!

I was going to point out what Chitten said about the stimulation of the nipples causing contractions but she beat me to it LOL

Also, I don't think your body will actually produce MILK until after delivery.  So pumping really wouldn't be very productive anyways.

I'm praying to make it to 36 weeks so I for sure don't want to trick em to come early.......mine started leaking yesterday and I wasn't sure about stocking up before hand but I will defintaly not think another second about it.....with your breasts leaking does it make them itchy?  If so what do you do for them I try the coco butter but it doesn't help

Mine started leaking at 17 weeks, initially just after a bath or a shower but spontaneously now. I too would love to get on with the freezing already but midwife says not to squeeze your nipples or stimulate milk production as it tricks your body into thinking bub has been born or will be born very soon. We want em (as annoying as it is) to stay in there until at least 37 weeks (or a little earlier for your two) :)

No, squeezing or pumping can cause you to go into preterm labour as it makes the uterus contract (desgined to help get your body back to normal after birth) so i wouldnt advise it.
