Point is you can still be pregnant even if you have something exactly like a period. Even if it isnt called that. And it doesnt always mean something is wrong or you had a misscarriage.

The point is... If you wanna just call it whatever, you could then 'technically' tell any pregnant women who has bleeding she is having a miscarriage - because it both involves bleeding and they look the same in many cases. It's the same with pregnancy symptoms - just because you have them doesn't mean you are, just because you have none doesn't mean you'll miscarry.

Just because it 'seems' like it, doesn't mean it is, nor should it be called that. Correct terms are vital - it helps women learn about their bodies and how they function on a day to day basis. It causes nothing but mass confusion in women who need answers and receive nothing but mixed arguments.

Wow this was the most ridiculous posting. Why not just clearly say NO you can not have a period why'll your pregnant BUT you can have bleeding every month and mistake it for a period but its uncommon. Jeeze. So to answer ur question on this post. You can still bleed while ur pregnant but no it is not called a period. It would be for a different reason. Wether ur having a miscarriage or your just bleeding.

I have told people many times they should see a doctor as i had to every month! And just like doctors say labor before 24 weeks is  misscarriage even if the baby can cry ect ect. I dont call it a misscarriage i call it premature. And if your bleeding every month the same time your expected to with the same cramping and same amount of blood or clotting then id just call it a period! Its what my doctor asked me each time i came in!! (Still having your period i see?) So doesnt matter what you call it.. you can still bleed every month like a period and have nothing wrong but its best to see a doctor just incase.

Really, personal experience? Ask any male ob with ZERO personal expierence and he will tell you its not a period when you bleed while pregnant. Its not my opinión its a Medical fact.

Ladies, there is no point to argue this. By definition a period shedding your uterine lining monthly after ovulation occurs. Some women DO bleed exactly like this, from a number of causes.

If you had a true period, you're not pregnant. You can have blood testing done by your doctor if you are still unclear.

I just don't see the point in "helping" confuse people about the difference between a period and bleeding while your pregnant. If you agree they are different then whats the problem? This is why women are under the impression ANY bleeding is a period. I answered her question with a real Medical answer, I did not and will not tell anyone they are the same or that its possible.

well if you have heavy blood and clots and all the norm for a period then why would you not think it is one you know what i mean and my doctor never told me i wasnt having my period at all i dont know if its cause it was 11 years ago but i was never told it wasnt

Yes you can bleed, But no its not a period. Im not going to tell her its a period and its possible when its not. I wouldnt want someone confusing me and telling me its a period when it cant be!

yea i understand that giving her the definition of it but what if she is like us and is having this bleeding and she is confussed that is why we who have had it can say yes u can bleed and think its a period and still be pregnant

yea but if you dont know you dont know we are not doctors we are people that get a period every month and get what seems to be the same thing and find out your pregnant and what do you know your still having what you believe is still a period so like they say everyone is diffrent no one person is the same and every pregnacy is diffrent

Yes but its easier to say period instead of having to explain this 24/7... this is the 5th time today having to explain this to people.

Thats exactly it mummytwobe, it "seems" like a period, But its not.

It feels and looks the exact same as a period. It lasts the same length of time has cramps and is heavy as you normally would be even if my "uterus" isnt shedding im still having something LIKE a period even if it isnt classified as one.

and i had cervical cancer at 14 so i seen a doctor ever month to make sure it didnt come back i was told I couldnt have kids i am blessed to this day with 3 beautiful babys and my 3 angels in the sky

Yourstruley is correct. In order to have a period your uterus sheds its lining, so you cant be pregnant. Unfortunately women seem to be under the impression that any vaginal bleeding is a period, But sometimes its just blood from the vagina and that can happen.
