I didn't know about it either till I caught pneumonia and all my coughing popped them out. It hurt so bad. Its more common in double jointed ppl but not just common to. It didn't even show up on x rays. I went to the chiropractor and was informed of the condition. I went to the Dr and he told me there really wasn't anything I could do but take pain pills. I never took his perscription. Had to research it myself and found out about how pregnancy could cause this problem. Its called slipped rib syndrome. U can compare ur symptoms if u wanna read on it.
Thanks ladies. @ ktowne I was planning on walking till he came out too;) @3rd_ I've never heard of this rib thing but it makes sense. Guess I'm just miserable until he gets here.
U could have a rib out of place. Its common in pregnancy. I have slipped ribs (pregnant or not) so I feel this pain and have for years. What tips me is the pain in between ur shoulder blades. That's where the pain is a constant ache all day and night for me. When u lie on ur side u put pressure on ur ribs and can compress the nerves that run along the inside of ur ribs. Babies can get big enough and move enough to pop them out. Not much u can do until u deliver and then they will move back in place.
I had this pain too, and a pillow between my legs really helped out, so I don't know what else to suggest, BUT it's very common to not be comfortable at all the last few weeks unfortunately :(! I was so uncomfortable my last 4 weeks I went for a walk every day and told my husband I wasn't coming back until I was in labor, and ended up waddling my little butt back disappointed! It's almost over, good luck hun!
