castor oil?? ppls views help!

Hi all. So 2moro I'm going to be a week late and I'm absolutely gutted tbh I really hoped my baby would of been here by now.
I feel miserable and can hardly walk. I've been on walks, bounced on my ball tryed sex not that its comfortable.
I've been to the midwife today and she performed a sweep on me but tbh honest I'm sure I could of done this on myself or got my partner to do it(sorry too much) she said I'm 2cm dilated, I'm gutted coz I hoped it would b more than that. She booked me in for an induction next tues but as u can see I'm really desperate now I really didn't want to have to be induced I would rather it just happen than have it forced.
A lot of ppl swear by taking castor oil I was just wondering what everyone's views are on it? Xx

I wouldnt recommend it. Only because it can give you the runs and your baby can poo in utero. I would NEVER do it.

Some women swear by a good foot massage. Book yourself an appt at a spa and see if it works..if not atleast you got a good foot rub! Good Luck!

That's what I'm scared of having to be induced and then having a long labour and in vfhe end having a c-section its always been my worst night mare, just because I've felt rubbish for this long and then after ya can't move around properly.I haven't had a great pregnancy any way I think id had enough by week 30 lol.
I no its supposed to make u go to the toilet but I'm not sure if I'm willing to take the risk or not lol x

You can try it if you want, but I wouldn't recommend it. You claim you're already uncomfortable, and this would really just add to it. Nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, contractions, diarrhea...these are all fun little side effects you might experience as well. If your body is ready, a stretch and sweep can very well work for you, and I don't think it's something you can do for yourself. You have to separate the water from the cervix and unless you know what you're looking for and doing I doubt you can.

Bear in mind that this will only work if you're already in labour and baby is ready to come. Until then, nothing will actually work.

I've never used it myself, but I know a couple women who have used it, and it sent them into a very quick labour. It's been around for a long time. Women have been using it for years. I ended up having to be induced and had an oxytocin drip and the dr ruptured my membrane because I was 9 days late and my son just didn't want to come out. I ended up having a c section because of the oxytocin drip. It dropped my son's heartbeat to an unsafe level.

So I say if you're uncomfortable, I'd give it a try.
Good luck! :)
