Hi,
I think everyone else is right. From what I have experienced is, if you have had chicken pox before than you already have the antibodies and you should be fine. However, I have worked in the medical field for many years, though I am not a doctor, I know that if a pregnant woman is exposed to the chicken pox and has not had the virus before, it can be risky. The best thing for you to do is to call you OB tomorrow morning and see what they have to say. They will probably order some blood tests just to make sure. I think you will be alright, just play it safe. Good luck!

Yep, call your doc. I am not sure about chickenpox and pregnancy but If you have had them before you should be fine because you have immunity to them. They can be very serious in adults that haven't had them before and can cause other complications. As far as your baby is concerned, if your little one is healed by the time your baby is born, then the baby shouldn't be exposed after birth.
The same thing happen to me but it was the fifth disease (which is the fifth strand of the chicken pox and measles, ect) Anyway being that I never knowingly had the fifth disease my ob took a blood sample to see if I was a immune to it. My test was negative and everything was great!!
Like the others are asking if you have had it before then chances are you will not get again, but if you have not had it before you need to get tested. I have heard that it only causes a miscarriage if you are in your first trimester. Being that you are in the final stretch I would think you have nothing to worry about at all. Just call your doctor and inform them about your situation.
Have you had chickenpox before?
call your OB and discuss with him. Have you had the chickenpox? If you're not sure, then a simple blood test can tell if this is even a concern for you.
