circumcision?

So i just found out that South Carolina dont cover circumcision anymore on medicaid... Wth my friend just told me you have to pay $200 up front to get it done. What is wrong with my state smh

luckily my insurance covers 80%, we have 3 boys so its been a big help considering it costs close to $300 at the places here. the hospital my last son was born didnt even do it in hospital and only one pediatrician in town does it. had to wait till he was three weeks because of it, that was rough.

Not covered in North Carolina either. Thank goodness I'm having another girl!

They cover it here in Iowa.

@kennimae u lucky lol @Emi10172013 thats crazy we are two southern states but south carolina want to be strict  like this im bout to move to GA just so he can get circumcision for free then move back to SC lol

Thank goodness I had both my little boys in Georgia and the Georgia medicaid paid for their circumcision

Lol they still cover it in PA my sister in law had my nephews done a month or 2 ago. I am glad I am having another girl because I worried they wouldn't pay due to changing of views on it.

@kennimae Well one thing i got to remember is to take $200 with me when i have my son lol. See i had my lil girl in 2010 so all this is new to me

We had to pay $350 to get our boys circumsized . i guess its bc its a personal reference .

They don't pay because its unnecessary and is seen as a cosmetic surgery.

A lot of places don't cover for you to get your son circumcised.
