hey there,
i have never heard of this, so i did some reading. i would suggest you do a good internet search and then discuss it with your doctor or midwife to see if its for you.
personally i don't think i would use it but i have different views about inducing than most of the other women on here. it doesn't sound like it works for everyone so keep that in mind. and i saw one or two women say it went terribly wrong and they had to go to the er and get help. that is a little scary to me. but as a whole it doesn't sound like a bad thing to try.
its suppose to help you feel more connected to the labour and baby by calming you down and relaxing your muscles. you inhale a mix of oils from your palm during the last stages of labour. you can also soak a cotton ball and put it under your pillow, apply it with a mixed oil and apply it to acupuncture points and your belly. you can also add the oil to your bath. it relaxes your muscles and it can make you feel 'euphoric' apparently so you could see how it would help during stressful labour. many women said it did nothing for them but gave them headaches. again, i suggest doing research yourself and discussing it with your health care provider to see if its for you.
personally it sounds like its a lot of effort for something that may not work for you. (particularly rubbing acupuncture points and focusing enough during labour to smell your palm) one person suggested it works best on people with strong pelvic floors cause they need to relax that floor. i think that you need to believe it will work for it to work. but if it makes you feel good and empowers you its is worth trying, its just up to you.
i also learned that jasmine can help with milk supply, interesting!!
best of luck!
hmm i have never heard of it
