clear sac, what is it?

I have been off contraception for 2 months, and had unprotected sex once in the first month.
I was certain I was pregnant, but the urine test was negative, and I had a very lite period right on time.

This month, I went for a pap smear a few days before my period was due, and started spotting (dark brown).
Bad cramps (don't usually get cramps) and tons of lower back pain. I just couldn't sit/lie/stand comfortably.

On Sunday (I expected my period), I started to bleed a little, so put in a tampon.
A few hours later, still very uncomfortable, I went to the loo to take out the tampon.
And as I pulled down, I felt something else literally fall out of me.
I jumped off the toilet to have a look.
At first i couldn't see much because there was blood covering what looked like a bubble.
I grabbed loo paper to move the bubble to get a good look, and then just stood there staring at it.
It was basically a clear sac, half the length of a thumb and double the width. Inside it was a greyish clump with a few dark bits, and a little blood.

It is quiet possibly the saddest thing I have ever seen in my life.

I googled and called some friends, no clear answers.
I phoned my doctor yesterday, but she couldn't help me.

Had heavy cramps and back pain yesterday, and a more bleeding (period).

Today I  feel a lot less pain and there's much less bleeding.

All I really want to know is, is it possible that the sac was a little beginning of a baby?
And if that's not possible, what else could it have been that "fell out" of me?

I just had the same thing yesterday where I got a bit of a cramp in my tummy, went to the toilet and there was a clear sac. Def not what I was expecting, then started to bleed like no tomorrow. I had no idea that I was pregnant, although a change in my mood, constant tiredness and the smell of certain things turning me I look back now and it was pretty obvious. I want to know, do I have to go and see my doctor?? I don't really want to get out of bed. I know the timing for me was not great with a surgery pending but I have wanted another baby for such a long time I guess to know that I was pregnant and lost it is pretty devastating, so I just want to know if you know if I have to go to the doctor or I'd I be fine if I don't

I did a urine test, negative.

And I also thought the doc would have noticed if I WAS pregnant.
But she also mentioned that she wasn't exactly thinking or looking to see if I was be pregnant (or considering it) due to my ex being out the country (she didn't know he was an "ex" and there was a new boyfriend).

I googled uterine fibroids yesterday, and it doesn't look at all like what I saw.

So still a bit confused. But if this EVER happens again, I will def go straight to a doctor. I was just so confused that that had actually come out of ME, and I eventually just flushed it.

Thank you for your advice!

In my opinion it doesn't  sound like you were pregnant because your doctor would have been able to tell if you were when you had your pap smear due to changes in your cervix.

It sounds like it may have been a uterine fibroid. Have you been seeing an OBGYN or a regular doctor?  I would recommend you see an OBGYN regarding this or get a second opinion if you had seen one.  If something like this happens again keep the tissue and take it to your doctor.

Go and get bloodwork done.  If your HCG levels are above 5, you were pregnant and miscarried.  If this just happened yesterday, you should still have some pregnancy hormone in your body.  Get it done right away.  Its the only way to know.  Your family doctor can make the order if your OB doesn't want to.  Do it today!  If it was a loss, Im sorry.
