cloth diaper experts, i need your opinions

hi guys,
so my husband and i are kinda old fashion. we like to make our own bread and do things from scratch. we live on a farm so i have time on my hands. also, we like to do things GREEN. if there is a natural way we do our best to do it. with that being said, we are looking into cloth diapers. they have made some major improvements since we were little!! buttons and velcro and absorbant layers its awesome! so i was wondering what everyone thought of them? if they worked for you or if they didn't, and why? any suggestions as to what to look for? looking forward to everyones advice. thanks!!

cool, i'm writing down the book right now, i will take a look next time we're in the city.
and thanks joy that is something to keep in mind. i wonder if the texture is uncomfortable or if they form a sensitivity? or maybe it means cloth is better for their skin? what do you guys think its due to?

Rach is right! Once you use cloth, disposable diaps will give baby a nasty rash. Happened to my nephew all the time. I wish I could use cloth diaps but after losing all of our money once hubby isn't too keen on the idea.

I'm very natural minded too girl! You GOTTA get the book DIAPER FREE by Ingrid Bauer. People that I have known that have used this method of potty training have had their babies out of diapers by 6 MONTHS!!! I'm just starting to use some of the techniques and it seems to be working

thanks everyone, i am really appreciate all your comments and support.  i am hoping for an all in one sort of deal that can be used from birth to potty training. there is only one place near us that sells them and one place that a lady does out of her home. but i am gonna go look up motherease and see what they have to offer.
thanks again everyone, hoping to hear more reviews.

I plan on using cloth diapers for my little boy when he arrives. I've bought some of the pre-shaped ones from Tots Bots, my friend has been using them with her 4 month old since birth and says that they are great. They don't leak and keep her baby's skin free from diaper rash (she uses disposables on odd occasions when they go places and the poor little guy always gets a rash after using them). Another brand I've heard is really good is Motherease ... they have a pre-shaped diaper that has extra poppers on it that you can use from birth right through to potty training. The good thing about these diapers is that they have a liner that traps the solids so you can just remove it and flush down the toilet so all you have to worry about is washing out the pee! I don't know if I'd be quite so willing to try them if it was the old fashioned way! :) Good luck and I hope you find something that works for you! :)

My SIL used Fuzzi Bunz diapers (all-in-ones). She loved them. She did have to use two inserts at night for extra protection. PLUS they're SO CUTE NOW!!!

I bought cloth diapers and the lady conned me out of almost $400. I never got my diapers and it's still a sore topic for me. So make sure you use PAYPAL or your credit card (you see... I wrote a check and once it was cashed, it was too late to get my $$$ back).
