evening primrose oil

Hi
i was just wondering if anybody had heard of evening primrose oil i think its called its ment to help soften cervix and helps concieve apparently but for helping with labour starting has anyone tried it. Whats the advantages and disadvantages please

It's not used to induce labour at all but to help soften up your cervix. I started using it at 38 weeks with my son and I still had him 12 days late. I took it vaginally (works better that way but it's messier) and orally.
I plan on starting it at 37 weeks this time around!

Ok thankyou. Im 37weeks n 1day but i had a scan yesterday and my babies head measured 40wks 5days so extremly large and dint fancy waiting for it to get any bigger else im all for waiting but thankyou every1

You use it when your 37 weeks and beyond.  Insert 2 500 mg and it sofens your cervix.  It your at 40 weeks you can use it twice a day.  I have heard itcwirks just like sex does.  I haven't tried it yet and I am 4 days overdue. Just like castor oil and raspberry leaf tea I am not going to use any of those I would rather just wait until the baby is ready.  Just keep walking and have sex, if possible. Good luck!

I think my mom takes it for arthritis. I've not heard about it for inducing labour.
