After birth

So I was curious on this. I was wondering if after you give birth if you start to feel better immediately. Like if anyone suffered from nausea/vomiting the entire pregnancy, or had HG, did it go away as soon as you had the child, or did it linger for awhile.

I'm hoping that mine go away. My sister had the hungry thing afterwards too, and said she felt better as soon as she gave birth. Thanks everyone for the input!! :)

With both of my boys I was sick 24/7 until the day I delivered and I must be one of the "lucky" ones because as soon as I had them I felt 100% better! Like Losing said I was so hungry after I had them both that I ate immediately afterwords!

With my last pregnancy...the last several weeks I was constantly throwing up, not wanting to eat, I had MAJOR hip pain and some back ache.  After I gave birth I was STARVING...that was the first thing I asked for was food.  The nausea was gone, didn't throw up again.  When I got up to walk to the bathroom an hour after delivering my hip felt perfectly fine!!

So to answer you question, yes, some symptoms can immediately disappear. Others will soon after!

I don't. I know a lot of times they give the shot after bleeding just because there's the chance the blood could mix resulting in antibodies being made. I don't know if you have them already in you (in which the shot would do nothing) or not. If you're set up to get it, it will help to reduce the chances that they'll ever be made if something else happens. I think it protects for 12 weeks. You'll have to talk to your doctor about it and see what they say.

Everything's fine with them. And I dunno if you call it bad..... It's a nightmare sure. You can google it and it would tell you about it all. I haven't had it as bad as some women have. I was never kept in the hospital for long periods of times. When I have had to go in, I would only stay long enough to get fluids and nutrition back into my body.

I have HG, so I've been sick since the very start of my pregnancy, and I can't find much on it, but what I have found isn't exactly.....heartening. I just read something that said it could take several months to as long as two years for the effects to go away. The weight gain doesn't bother me. I can get that back. I'm concerned that I'm still going to be sick and nauseated and have to care for a newborn alone (DF will be working) The only thing that is really keeping me going now is counting down the days and knowing that I've gone for 7.5 months so far and I've only got 10 weeks left, but if it still lingers for months after......

You will feel still bad & a little hormonal for a few weeks after delivery.  After I gave birth, I remember I would get so hot and sweaty and it felt like I was taking a shower.  I just sweat and sweat and sweat, it was so gross.  I guess it was all those hormones exiting my body.  After about a month to 6 weeks after delivery is when you can expect to start feeling more like you did pre- pregnancy.

I had PUPPP during pregnancy. It is this horrible rash that you get towards the end of pregnancy. As soon as she popped out I stopped being itchy, also as soon as you give birth all pain and contractions stop.

As I haven't given birth yet.... I dont actually know, but wouldn't it be lik after you have an Mc or termination or something and they linger for a while cause the Hormones are still in you bodyy?? Cause after you give birth you still have positive tests for 3 weeks. But the sickness and stuff should really stop straight away OR within a few days....
:)

I duno... Have you had sickness the whole way through??

mine lingered and actually worsened for a few days post-partum, but then slowly got better and by about 2 1/2 weeks post-partum I was back to normal...it takes a little while for the hormone surge to settle down....and I know my neighbor, who gave birth within 2 weeks of me, had the same thing happen...she was getting less nauseous just as I was going into labor...but it's different for everyone, but I might plan on another week or two of nausea if nothing else post-partum while your hormones start settling down.
