If you are pregnant, I would advise you to talk with your Dr. ... But DO NOT STOP taking the medication.. It can cause withdrawl's. It is something that cannot be stopped cold turkey.
Here is a link hope it helps...
mmediate-release oxycodone has not been formally assigned to a pregnancy category by the FDA. Some combination products that contain oxycodone (such as Percocet and Tylox) are assigned to pregnancy category C. Controlled-release oxycodone has been assigned to pregnancy category B. Use of narcotic analgesics in late pregnancy is associated with the risk of neonatal withdrawal. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Oxycodone should only be given during pregnancy when there are no alternatives and benefit outweighs risk

I take hydrocodone and have my entire pregnancy. Codeine or vicodein are the safest narcotics to use in pregnancy as opiate use in pregnancy has been widely studied. There are risks and the best bet is to speak with your OB and discuss the risks vs benefits of the medication during pregnancy.
Some women find that their migraines disappear in pregnancy and never return.
Your child can be born addicted to the drug and go through withdrawal in which they will have to be hospitalized in the NICU for treatment until it has left their system.
Most importantly do NOT ever stop taking any medication without first speaking to your dr. Some medications are more beneficial in pregnancy and narcotic use can lead to addiction and withdrawal in pregnancy CAN lead to miscarriage. So do not stop your pain medication. Sit down and speak with your dr. They may want you to see a pain specialist who specializes in maternity care (that is what I am doing).
Good luck
Beautifulmistake- wow we are on a roll tonight with the same answer to every question LOL!
LMAO.. Yes we are hon... ;)
Great minds think alike :)
I agree with everything the other ladies have said completely....I had to take pain meds during both pregnancies and my babies were born healthy, but it was done with careful communication between my doctor and myself....and you may be put on a tapering regime to lower the doses before delivery so that the baby is born with a lower risk of dependence. neither of my babies were born dependent because I tapered before delivery....so it's entirely possible to have a very healthy pregnancy despite taking pain meds, but you must be completely transparent with your doctor and honest about everything regarding the medications so they can properly monitor you.
I suffered from migraines before my first pregnancy, but luckily they gradually got better during the pregnancy and vanished for several months after....then returned slowly, and by my second pregnancy had increased to nearly every day...by the time I delivered, the headaches were daily and completely debhilitating. Now they are slowly easing off again....so I know from experience that it can go either way but it is FAR more common for migraines to ease or disappear during/after pregnancy so I hope that's the case with you!
Good luck and congrats :)
