I guess im one of those dumb girls who didnt know I went into labor with my first child. I was in pain all day and started spotting but didnt know it was labor. I had braxton hicks from very early on in my first pregnancy so my stomach always hurt. If it wasnt braxton hicks contractions than it was my stomach growing. Either way I thought the pain was normal because I had experienced it every day it seemed. The spotting was unusual but I had also just gotten checked the day before so I thought thats why I was spotting. I only went to the hospital because my mom told me too and I thought she was over reacting but I went for her and was told I was in actual labor. Its not completely crazy thay someone wouldn't know. When its your first pregnancy sometimes its hard to know what normal is supposed to feel like. This being my third ive figured it out by now but still dont think it was that crazy I had no idea with my first.
Thank you ladies that gavee an idea...hopefully contractiona don't come till January though or end of . December!
Braxton hicks never get stronger or more painful. They come and go and are irregular.
Real contractions should get stronger and more painful and come more frequently and at regular intervals. For example, if it was real, you might rate your pain at a 3 out of 10 in one hour, but the next hour you will rate your pain a 6 out of 10 because they are more painful. And they will start out at maybe every 10 minutes, but over time, they will come ever 5 minutes, until eventually you cant take it anymore and have to go to hospital :-) with braxton hicks, you can usually walk and they will go away.
Braxton Hicks are more uncomfortable then they are painful like regular contractions.

I'm 33 wks and went to have a stress test done today and was having contractions that they finally got to go away after 3 hrs and have no clue y I had them .. iv been having cramps that feel like period cramps
Braxton Hicks are real contractions but they're not strong enough to begin pulling the cervix open.
Very rarely, women do get into late labor and they don't know it. They say bewildering things like "well I was in horrible pain that kept coming and going all day but it didn't occur to me I was in labor". I don't get that at all. ;D
