Could I be pregnant just 4 weeks after giving birth to a stillborn child? I had unprotected sex just 4wks after giving birth

Hello,
I just gave birth to my first child on 2/10/09 and she was still born. I carried her until 38.5 weeks pregnant so obviously I was full term.  Anyhow, I have irregular periods prior to that but I had a very healthy pregnancy with no complications up until she passed.  

My question is:
I had sex 4 weeks after I gave birth to her.  No protection was used.  It has been 3 weeks to the day that we first had sex and I have been extremely nauseated yesterday and today which is highly unusual for me.  I have not had a period yet, just the bleeding from the baby.  Can I be pregnant?  I have read so many different posts on line and I dont want to jump the gun but any information or website would be helpful.

You defidently could be pregnant because you are most fertile right now, but if you take a HPT you may get a false positive because your hormone levels are still abnormal. I would try to wait a little longer before taking HPT, or you can go take a blood test.

I believe all women are very fertile after giving birth so it is very possible.

I am so sorry for your loss, she was beautiful. I cant imagine the pain that you are feeling.

I am so incredibly sorry, she is absolutely beautiful and I can not begin to imagine what you must be going through!  I am currently 34 wks pregnant having lost my last at 20 wks and if you don't mind talking about it, how did you lose your little girl?  It is any mother's worst nightmare to lose a child.  I never found out why my little girl died in the womb and worry constantly with this one!!

Its possible you are pregnant, but sometimes after birth it can also take you body several months to regulate and hormones are still all over the place and can cause various symptoms.   You could try taking a HPT to get an idea whether you might be pregnant.

Also, I am incredibly sorry to here about the passing of your precious daughter Olivia.  I assume she is the beautiful angel on your profile picture.

It is actually 7 weeks since I gave birth.  I had sex at 4 weeks after. I read the title of my post and it sounded weird the way it was worded.

It is very possible. I believe women are very fertile right after we have a baby.
