cramping at night

So im just over 37 wks and i get braxton hicks all day but thats just the tightening and no pain but every night for a week now i wake up and im having like period cramps and aching in my uterus. I just wanna know why only at night? This is my 3rd baby and before this pregnancy i never had any braxton hicks i never even knew what they felt like. With my other 2 i basically just went into labor with no warning signs.

I know i still have a few wks but ive been losing my plug for over a week and like i said lots of acheyness and cramping while im sleeping at night,  is this a good sign?? Both my other babies were overdue and im praying this 1 wont be!

Hmm, certainly a little weird, hopefully it is just you're body preparing itself and feeling different as you are in a different position. My labour started with period like pain, but quickly progressed to definite contractions!

I know how you feel, my first two were overdue too and I'm desperately hoping I go earlier this time! Maybe the cramps are more intense when you are lying down with baby's weight being more on one side or the other? I've not had any experience of that, maybe you should call your midwife or doctor?
Fingers crossed for you going early, certainly sounds like you're nearly there, I had braxton hicks regularly for the last week or so before I went in to labour both times!
