Try sucking on a lemon hun
Depending on the medicine you are on, you should be able to increase the dosage. I was on Diclectin and it didn't seem to work, so the doctor told me to double up on my night time pill and it worked wonders. I've know been off it for a month and I still have periods of nausea every day, but its a lot more manageable now. As for other tricks, I found small batches of sugar helped take the edge off, and by small batches I mean like a hard candy or a lollipop. Ginger ale worked great too, but the trick is to stir or shake all the bubbles out first, especially if you throw up all the time. I found the carbon in it hurt my nose when I threw up. Try to keep cool, heat can exacerbate the nausea and make you grumpy. Try to avoid fatty foods or salty foods, because they are harder on your stomach and increase chances if vomiting. And if you crave something, eat it! Even if it is one of those things I said to avoid, because the chances of your body 'rejecting' the food you craved are very slim because its something you wanted. A good piece of advice my doctor gave me ia that food only needs to be in your stomach for 20 minutes in order to absorb all the nutrients, so try and wait out that 20 minute period if you can before throwing up, and if you do throw up before the 20 minutes, eat again. Good luck! It will get better!
I have some ginger ale, but am afraid to try it cause everything makes me so nauseous :( I leave cereal bars next to my bed to eat when I get up, but they don't help anymore. I've never heard of the butter thing though, so I'll try that. Thanks! (:
Ginger beer, ginger ale works too (But NOWHERE near as well) for me anyways. Also I used to get my fiance to make me a plain butter sandwich first thing when I woke up, and I wouldn't get out of bed till I had eaten it. Usually, I figured out that it was standing up first thing in the morning on an empty stomach made me feel sick. Oh also, try and avoid drinking anything cold before you eat, room temp water is better then cold water first thing. Hope some of this helped.(:
