Well my epidural didnt work till i started pushing, felt like an alien was trying to rip my stomach open. After the epidural worked, i felt pressure, but wasn't too bad. I didn't feel the afterbirth so you have nothing to worry about on that.
Remember people are different. A friend of mine didn't feel a single contraction and only pushed four times. I keep telling myself that is how my upcoming labor is going to go.

ya mine were just like when you have bad gas pain or really really bad menstral cramps.... times 100... mine were pretty intense... and to go with the other girls... i also had a c section in the end...
My contractions felt like a really bad poop pain. A lot of pressure at my bottom. It did hurt to pull the afterbirth out for my first baby but he said it was huge. So that may have been why.
My first baby contractions wer not that painful and baby popped out I remember saying was that it. That lasted 4 hours. But my second birth was well something else, I got up off the bed a few times saying I can't take no more I'm leaving my body, that's how I felt the pain was so unbearable!!! That labour lasted 4 hours also. Yes each contraction and labour is different, they all feel like sharp stabbing pains or like fists clenching onto your insides tight, they build up gradually then go an come an go and gas an air helps, there are some meds you can take and not feel the pain I think...
Yeah that was another thing, I couldn't breath or talk or move til it passed.
With my first son they were weird cramping sharp pains And my second son they were sharp coming and going pains. And no the after birth isn't painful. Its like a bag also so it adjusts to u pushing it out with the help of the dr.
Mines felt like a super duper bad stomach ache
Contractions took my breath away. I didn't get them in my back. It was like a huge menstrual cramp and tightening. The placenta coming out debt hurt nearly as much because it is way smaller than your baby who already made a path through you. The doctor will press on your uterus to basically help it detach angf ask you to push once and plop out it comes!
I also had a c-section, but my sister said she just pushed one last time to deliver the afterbirth, and I'm sure after having a baby that can't hurt as bad. Don't stress about the pain, it can't be life shattering or we wouldn't all be trying for second and third babies ;)! I got to 8cm's with no pain meds, and they lost his H/B, nd I honestly can't remember the pain at all!
I've only had C-sections so your.last question I can't answer BUT I went.into.full blown labor with.my.first two.babies. Mine started out like a.tightening of my stomach kinda when.the baby balls up but it was my.entire stomach. I had it in.my lower back.the only.way I.know how to describe that is when.you're dehydrated and your kidneys hurt or like a kidney infection, you know? I had a kind of deep.cramping like menstrual cramps.
Yikes. Does the afterbirth being pulled out hurt? I have soo many questions. The thought of delivery is scaring me..but makes me excited as well!!
Well every women is different, but my contractions (true labor contractions) felt like I was constipated and trying to have a BM. A lot of pressure for me, like a really bad menstrual cramp, a dull ache that worsened, that went around my back to my lower abdomen. A little tightening as well!
