Its unpasteurized cheese you shouldn't eat. Almost all cheese you find in a regulare grocery store is pasteurized. It will say on the label of it is unpasteurized or raw. Cream cheese is processed so it's completely safe.

Speaking of things we shouldn't eat, I have a smoked turkey sandwich almost everyday for luch. Money is tight and it's about all we can afford. I know we aren't supposed to eat deli meat bc of Listeria. How common is it really for women to get it now days?

I wonder this too. I forgot about it and ate a Turkey sub from subway and freaked out. But other than that I have never eaten any lunch meat. I know it is safe if you heat up the lunch meat to a certain degree then cool it and eat immediately. Might want to do that just to be safe

Cream cheese is safe so are other pasteurized cheeses. Soft cheeses that are not usually pasteurized an example is fresh feta shouldn't be ate. Listera is not very common, but it can happen and when it does happen its more likely to happen during pregnancy because your immune system is lower. And when listeria happens it's super dangerous especially to the baby. So I wouldn't risk the cold lunch meat.
