Thanks for responding. I appreciate it.
A good friend of mine delivered her daughter in October at 25 weeks. She was 1 lb. 15 oz. She spent 7 weeks in the nicu. She is almost 8 months now and doing great. Her mom had high blood pressure and they had to take the baby. Like someone else said, if they do take baby early it helps to talk to people going through the same thing. Goodluck!
I know someone who just delivered at 27 weeks. She had a very severe case of pre eclampsia. Her baby was 1 lb 13oz and is doing awesome! Drs see this more than we realize and technology these days is great. What is good for you is your baby has everything it needs to survive on the outside! Good luck to you! Try not to worry as it doesn't accomplish anything.
msmomma1-What caused u to deliver early
I delivered my first son at 30 weeks, he spent 5 weeks in the nicu and now is a very healthy 11 year old. It all really depends on how developed the babies lungs are as to how long they will have to stay and if they have any other complications. Ask a lot of questions and the best help I got was From preemie boards, talking to other moms going through it or who have been through it really helped.
I've never delivered that early, but I have a good friend who delivered her son at 27 weeks. We just celebrated his first birthday back in march. He is doing amazing and is actually much healthier and bigger than my son who was born at 37 weeks!
