Braxton hicks ARE real contractions, they're just not strong enough to begin pulling the cervix open.
Labor contractions feel like braxton hicks, they just peak at a much more intense level.
It will feel like the baby is balling up in your uterus. That's what Braxton Hicks Contractions feel like and, while they might be uncomfortable, they are not painful like labor contractions.
I agree with the poster above! There is nothing like labor contractions!!! I can honestly deal with braxton hicks contractions because they aren't painful, just aggravating . . . My pain level & yours are different of course but I can handle Braxton Hicks anyday .
Braxton hicks feels like your stomach is rock hard, it can happen standing up, sitting and lying down. Its usually painless but pretty uncomfortable. I'm 36 weeks and when I lay down, my braxton Hicks makes it hard to breathe sometimes lol. To make the BH go away, try changing positions when lying down or get up and walk around. Hope this helps! :)
I've felt my stomach get rock hard many times before, I had just thought it was the baby pushing up against my belly. It does get comfortable and I try walking around when my belly is solid. So, maybe I have experienced them before. It doesn't hurt just uncomfortable and I just breathe through it.
Thanks ladies! I just wasn't sure and I forgot to bring it up with my doctor on my last appointment.
Uncomfortable***** not comfortable
