i'm almost 21 weeks and still feel sick most of the time...threw up 2x yesterday......now the reflux has started and it feels like i have a ball of food or something stuck in my throat all the time...fun fun! so i'd say that what you're dealing with is normal....hope it ends soon for you!
Certain foods are naturally prone to giving people heartburn and indigestion whether they're pregnant or not. However, like Cheesecake said, when you're pregnant, the hormones in your body slow down digestion to pretty much leech as much nutrients out of it for the baby. The books I have recommend eating small frequent meals throughout the day instead of the normal three 'big' meals a day. That will help your digestion (and also sometimes help keep the nausea at bay). But still remember that certain foods will cause indigestion no matter how small a portion you eat. Also, when you eat, don't drink anything while you're eating (milk, water, soda, whatever) because the combination of drinking and eating can cause more air bubbles to get into your stomach, which will cause those painful gas bubbles. Blech!
Pregnancy is like that. I used to love certain foods before I was pregnant and then when I was I couldn't stand them. I loved grilled chicken and then during my pregnancy, I couldn't even stand the sight or smell of it. Orange juice is very acidic and beans are extremely gassy. You may have a slight intolerance to these foods now that you are pregnant. I say stay away from them and eat less gassy foods. I know tomato sauce is hard on the stomach and brocolli and cauliflower cause gas. Also, any rice will constipate you. What kept me from being nauseaus so much was pasta with a little garlic and butter. The first trimester in pregnancy is hard but the second should be a little better. Keep track of what foods irritate your stomach and avoid them as much as possible.
When I am able to eat I get like this. I cant eat very much at all and I feel like I ate a horse. Also I often end up burping for a n hour after I do eat, and I constantly have has bubbles moving around and causing pain. I think it is quite normal for pregnancy, because the hormones slow your digestive system and cause these things. Im sorry that your uncomfortable, just try to picture that beautiful baby, its worth it in the end.
