I'm now 6w5d & for the past few days off and on been getting brown discharge and very bad backache is this normal at the first trimester

It could be anything but still best to go to the doctors where they can examine you properly. Mine was only sonetimes too, but still better to be safe than sorry.

I don't have the discharge constant it's just every few days and only a small amount

My friend told me that it's old blood from when my period should of been due

I had that and it was cervical erosion. Nothing to worry about just hormones make some extra cells grow on the outside of your cervix so sex or a slight knock can make you bleed. Get checked out though

Brown is usually old blood. Its normal. But if you'd like to call your doctor to be sure its always better to he safe than sorry.

I believe not you should call your doc he might put you on bed rest! Good luck hope every is okay!!
