dizzy while working

Starting my 5th month of pregnancy, I've been experiencing very dizzy spells while working. I'm a cashier at a 24hour pharmacy, so I'm standing in one spot for 8 hours. I get so dizzy at times I feel like I'm going to pass out, this hasn't happened..yet. I spoke to my doctor about it and he said there's nothing I can really do to help it. I'm nearing my 6th month, and wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and what you did to help it

I am allowed a chair behind the registers to sit when I can, but it being a very busy store its almost impossible to sit for more than 3 minutes at a time. I do have to kneel down and get up quite often, grabbing cigarettes and opening locked cabinets for customers. I'm hoping to work up til my due date, but the more I think about it the less I want to

I recommend also, if you feel yourself getting dizzy, to make sure you are taking slow, deep, even breaths. Have you asked your employer if you can have a stool at your station?

I would look into getting some pregnancy compression support hose. Sounds very unsexy, I know, but they help keep fluids & blood from pooling in your feet/legs if you are standing all day. And be very cautious about bending over or kneeling & then standing back up. This can cause your blood pressure to drop suddenly, which is where the dizziness comes from. Take care of yourself & good luck!

I couldn't do it... I get so dizzy. Im 6to months.
My dizziness started when I was around 4 1/2 months. I was standing in subway, waiting in a line... and when it was finally my turn to get a sandwich... I started feeling reallllyyy dizzy.. since I was being helped, I was just standing there, ignoring my dizziness. Then all of a sudden I just passed out.. It was so embarrassing... an old lady rushed over to help me. Now when I start feeling dizzy I have to sit immediately.
And it happens all the time.. lol its horrible.
My ob said there's not much to do about it either. Just drink lots of water. Which I do.. and no change. Lol

I get dizziness when pregnant and I just make sure I eat regularly and drink regularly. It usually makes it better. Make sure you are taking your breaks as well to get a bit of rest!
