Mine are painful! Everyone would tell me they don't, but they do. I've had them while on a monitor so I know they are not real labor contractions. So yes, they certainly can be painful. Sorry you are going through that!

Idk I think I just had my first one last night and it was rough... I have a pretty good pain tolerance too.   It was more in my back then my belly like everyone says.  It felt just like I would imagine a contraction to be.  Did it a couple of times and stopped. Nearly took my breath away.

Mine don't normally hurt, they're just uncomfortable and sometimes I'll get the cramping with them but the one I just got was way worse than my normal ones. Maybe I'm just bad with pain, it is my second pregnancy and i heard they can sometimes be stronger or you feel them a lot more than what you would have with your first so maybe that's it, hopefully they don't stay like that lol

Braxton hicks should never be painful, uncomfortable yes. I'd ask the doctor, they shouldn't feel painful, mine always just felt weird almost like my belly was suctioning to the baby and very hard!

Most people say they dont hurt but Im sure for some people they can. I think it just depends on your pain tolerance. I personally just find them uncomfortable because everything gets tight and hard but they dont hurt me. I know people who say that they hurt when they get them.
