doctors

Always fun to hear when you call your doctor in pain...."take2 Tylenol and call me back if your contractions start again" when I called about sharp pain in my pelvic area....not even an explanation in why it may be happening...:/

All doctor's offices have an 'on call' number with a doctor at the other end to answer questions.  No person should ever feel guilty or bad for contacting their doctor of concerns.  Back pain is a sign of labor for some women.  If it intensifies (even if contractions aren't regular) call your doctor).  They may want to check you.  At this stage of pregnancy, it is not out of the question that you will go into true labor.

Again, no woman should feel like they can't or shouldn't call their doctor. That is part of the care they provide as is their job.  good luck hon

I was having contractions 7-8 minutes apart but they stopped and then I started getting a sharp pain in my back and my pelvis. I'm 36 +2 and contractions have slowly been getting regular but they always stop! But I took Tylenol and am going to try and relax.

Contractions are contractions.
Braxton hicks are practice contractions and can get pretty unpleasant
As long as your not having them every 3 minutes then you just have to deal.

That is frustrating.  I guess aches and pains are common but that is not good medicine to just skim over a patients concerns.  I was the annoying patient that would call you again if it was still bugging me and asked questions like 'what can it be?" and "what can I do?".  I figure their job is to take care of me and answer my questions so by golly, I'll keep asking until I'm satisfied.  :>)  so, if the pain continues, call him back.  (try the Tylenol first though.)  good luck
