I read you story about being pregnant and developing graves. I just went through the same thing. I developed graves disease of the eyes in my 1st trimester but none of the drs knew what was wrong with my eyes and my thyroid levels went from hypo to hyper. I made it to 31 weeks when my water broke and he was fine, the drs wanted the baby to stay in for a while longer is possible so gave me magnesium and put me on a heart monitor for the baby for 3 days. That night they took me off the heart monitor and even though the baby was fine I became a little nervous about itbut they said this what they alwasy do and that I needed to get a good nights sleep. At some point in the next 9 hours he passed away. The drs are thinking that maybe at some point apparently my graves caused the baby's thymus to enlarge and it ended up stopping his heart. It has been 9 weeks and we have been told that we will hopefully have the autopsy report back next week.
Now after that long story for my question, my thyroid levels have been normal and I am off the meds, but I still have TED (thyroid eye disease), graves of the eyes. So now it would be ok to become pregnant??? It took us 3.5 years to become pregnant the first time and the dr said it would be best to try again soon after we had the baby if we wanted more then one. how did you do once your levels were alright? Do I have to wait for my eyes to go down? I read that can take up to 2 years and I just turned 37. Don't know what to do, any ideas.
Well, I don't have graves disease, but I have hasimoto's. I have NEVER been hyperactive in my life and all of a sudden, during my 1st pregnancy (I ended up loosing it) I became HYPERactive!! So, they just lowered my levothyroxine. I am assuming you do have graves and are having a hyper problem?
