does it really membrane sweep?

Had a membrane sweep done today my due date is tomorrow having contractions but not strong one how many mom's had this done and it worked...

During a membrane sweep, your midwife or obstetrician will insert a lubricated finger into your vagina and feel for your cervix. Then she'll make fairly vigorous, circular, sweeping movements just inside the cervix to try to separate your amniotic sac from the cervix itself.

With my first it put me into labor about 12 hours later, though I was in labor for thr next 2 days after also, it definitely got it going for me but made labor way too long for me. I said I'd never do it again but now as I am 36 weeks, I would definitely get it done again if I was closer to or past my due date!

Oh Lord lol I was getting contractions now they stop plus the doctor said I'm 3Cm but my cervix still pretty long so I don't know if it'll work for me I hope I didn't get it for nothing because it was painful lol

I had 3 done one at 38 weeks and one at 39 and my last one on my due date and now I'm a day past my due date and nothing seems to be happening no labour yet didn't work for me I guess.

I had one done at hospital and they didn't even tell me they were doing it when I was pregnant with my second all she said was that she was checking my cervix and now pregnant with my 3rd i realized what she had done cause it was the most painful cervix check ever! And I googled what a membrane sweep was and realized that's what she did to me!! It didn't move anything along fast for me.
