I asked my doctor, because my 21st birthday is a couple weeks before my due date lol and I really wanna have one to celebrate. She said having a glass of wine from time to time in your second and third trimester is perfectly fine. Obviously no beer or liquor. It's one glass in like a month, people are way too paranoid. Some women smoke cigarettes but claim wine is worse lol. Just ask your OB and see what they say. But definitely wait til you're out of your first trimester!!! It is most important in baby's development.

Why can't you just wait?its not that big of a deal and there are less harmful ways to relax or be healthy whatever it is that your trying to achieve.ive heard some say it's okay and some say it's not.personally I wouldn't risk it but it's your body and your child and ultimately your choice.good luck with whatever you decide mama❤

I was always told it was ok, but now I hear that it's not. Best bet would be to ask ur doctor! To me it's not worth the risk of baby being born with fetal alcohol syndrome.  To oppose what was said above me, alcohol won't cause down syndrome, that's a chromonal defect that happens at conception.

People do it, & have healthy babies.  Then some do it, & have unhealthy babies.  Would u want to take that chance say if your baby came out with down syndrome & you drank red wine. .. you would blameyourself.  That's my view on it. I feel like 9 months yyou're making a baby, why do anything to risk its health?  Is drinking alcohol really that important that u can't wait until baby is born to have it? Same goes for marajuana & cigarettes & everything else ppl do. That's just my opinion,  if someone doesn't agree,  that's fine.

No its not especially in the first trimester. Rapid development of babies major organs, brain and spinal cord happen in the first trimester. I hear some women have a small glass while pregnant personally I wouldnt but if you were to you should wait at least until the middle of the second trimester. Ask your doctor. It is currently not recommended that any alcohol be taken in while pregnant since FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome) is not completely understood on when and how it all happens.
