drug test?

My boyfriend and his friends smoke pot,  they smoke in the same room as me all the time but I try to cover my face and walk away to a different part of the roo

I agree you should be careful and try to stay away from it. Second hand smoke effects everyone and is especially bad for baby. Did your doctor explain any of this to you? A drug test is something to worry about, but you and baby's health is much more important than that.

Oh the differences between Canada and the U.S. lol I know a lot of mom's who had such bad sickness it was the only way they could eat. The ones oldest is 11 years old and brilliant. She's swimming at Olympic qualifying times as well... so it can't hurt the baby as much as I hear some people say! I guess depending where you live you want to be extra careful if you're around it.

@jtrasky I'm in Canada as well and they don't really do it here. I've heard in the states they test every newborn. But here they only do it if they really have a reason to believe moms been doing anything.

I live in IL and only knew I was tested because I looked at the lab sheet which states what tests they were doing on my blood and urine. I decided to ask my doctor about it and he said yes we do test but only contact cps if you are full term or using meth/heroin/crack drugs like that...

Where do you all live? I live in Canada and I've never heard of being tested for weed when pregnant?

They do drug test expecting mothers. But there are things called cut off levels. So even if there is a small amount (which would be extremely small from second hand exposure) detected then it will still be negative. I suggest to try and stay away from second hand smoke simply because of the fact it is smoke.

You need to be careful hon. I heard they are going to start drug testing expecting mother's and those who come up positive will have cps notified.

My boyfriend smokes and I don't. On my first initial appointment I had to blow into a machine and it came up red because of passive smoke. Passive smoke still harms an unborn baby!

It wont be in your system but when my sister was smoking in our house it caused me to go into preterm labor at 25 weeks.

He would literally have to blow it in your mouth for you to be at risk for testing positive. No worries. :)

Dnt worry my bf nd his friends smoke around me all the time i asked my docter if it will effect me or my bby she said no the olny way for it to get in my system is if i  smoke but being around it wont hurt
