eclipses and pregnancy???

Whyis it that when we are pregnant and there's an eclipse, we have to wear a bunch of safety pins??? My mil keeps telling me to wear safety pins always, bit why?

Its an old myth that originated with the Aztecs I believe... they say the moon will take a piece of ur baby and he/she will b born with a cleft lip. Different people believe different things

Superstitious myths, I have heard that if you don't wear red or safety pins during an eclipse your baby could be born with facial deformities. There is no way that an eclipse can cause facial deformities, so this isn't true at all.
