Car seats expire because they are made of plastic and the plastic is only durable and able to protect a baby for so long.
As a guess, I reckon they will say they 'expire' to make you buy another and not use the same one for subsequent kids...plus technology will keep improving.
I didn't know they expire.. that's good to know! What's the use of it expiring if it still works great?
You wont need it long enough for it to expire! Baby will have moved into a larger seat and then a booster seat before you know it!
I didnt know car seats expire.
They expire 5 years after the date they were manufactured!
i know that the car seat that i had for my daughter and son it expires 2013 or 2014 and that said it on the bottom of the car seat where the car seat went into. so i do think they do expire.
