Just remember with the shower make them cool not cold with heat like tht and then jumping in a freezing shower could throw u into shock.
Popsicles have been my best friend. They're great because they don't have a ton of sugar and they are so heavy like ice cream. I live in Phoenix too. I am so not looking forward to this summer. As per, my car has no a/c. But like they said above, cool showers, lots of water, and maybe try staying with a close friend or family member until you can get up the money for a deposit at a different apartment.
I agree with Specialmom^ that is just not feasible. Your pregnant now, and I couldnt imagine living in that situation once your baby is born. Your baby will need AC. This summer we are expecting record high temps in phoenix, and you dont want to be in this situation at all.
Sweetie, start collecting a deposit for a new place. Move out. Move to somewhere that you are considered a legitimate tenant. Where you can exert your rights. This situation will NOT do. good luck
Thank you you guys he just said we can suffer in the heat and it's only hit until 6pm and no specialmom my boyfriend just gave him the money no reciept or anything I had to say I needed a lease for a legal matter just so they'd give me one in my last apartment they refused to give me one and I suffered having no hot water for a year boiling water on my portable stove to shower they are cruel people and we often feud for reasons such as this my boyfriend acts as if I'm overreacting but it's 99• and im 19 weeks pregnant I'm sick of having to go without something regardless of what it is just because they are family I have never missed my rent and they raise it all the time I feel alone in this battle
Hi there. You actually DO have rights. Is the deposit 600? Did you get a receipt? If not, hopefully you didn't just hand the guy cash and have somewhere to show where the funds came from. Checking account, something like that. Proof. But you can look up what the laws are. As a tenant, you can get your money back if they did not live up to their end of the bargain. I actually am a landlord in a different state and we have to follow laws. That includes fixing pertinent things like air conditioning in a hot state.
The library is usually air conditioned and you can look up landlord/tenant law in your state. Here's a link:
http://portal.hud.gov/hudportal/HUD?src=/states/arizona/renting/tenantrights
here is another link that has some questions answered for you:
http://www.arizonalandlordtenantblog.com/blog/2011/05/is-there-an-arizona-law-that-states-how-often-a-landlord-must-paint-andor-replace-carpet-or-that-the-landlord-must-do-these.html
There is a question in that second link about air conditioning being broken in heat in Arizona. Landlords MUST fix anything that will negatively affect the health of tenants such as no air. They have a few days, like 5 to fix it but it is required by law that they do so.
So, if you are a tenant, use the laws to protect yourself. Boyfriends brother or not. You have rights. good luck
Yikes girl, I live in Phoenix too and this heat is no joke. I use a spray water bottle when I get too hot. If you find urself feeling dizzy or super uncomfortable jump in a cold shower. Swamp coolers are great too. I hope you find some relief, can you go to a public place for the day that has A/C? The library or somewhere until the day cools down, then prop a fan in ur window to let the cool breeze blow in from outside. Take care
Getting a portable swap cooler would work if you can't afford that get some fine mist water bottles and just spray yourself in the face and legs during the day
Have u thought about a swamp cooler? They actually work really good!
