second time moms

I'm having my first membrane sweep tomorrow and I was wondering if any second time moms have had one done and did it send you into labor quicker? Or for anyone who has had one how long did it take to work?

Ill be 38+2 weeks tomorrow when I get it done but I'm being induced on Monday and rather go into labor on my own.

I didn't have one with my first so I was wondering if it would have any effect of working faster. I was only 1 1/2cm as of last week and still thick so maybe it will help speed things up.

I had my membrane sweep yesterday @ 38 w 2 days. I had my first at 38 weeks & he came on his own. So I'm basically 2 days over lol. I'm hoping I get to meet my little one soon. I'm 3cm dilated & 100% effaced so hopefully it works for me. I haven't had any cramps or bleeding or anything! The doctor did say to give it 48 hours though. Fingers crossed.

I had a membrane sweep with my first and it didnt make me go into labor any faster and I have to say it was extremely and about 4 hours after I started having very painful contractions that stopped after 3 hours and I still ended up having to be induces. I will not be getting a membrane sweep this time around.
